20-Minute Morning Routine

This post contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission off items that are purchased from this article. Thanks for helping me continue to do what I love!

As a mom, I have limited time to get ready each morning. I'm lucky if I get a chance to take a hot shower and take a single sip of coffee (while it's hot!) before the girls wake up and our day gets going.

Since I've gotten older and had kids, I must get dressed before I can even think about doing anything productive. Wearing comfies or anything that slightly resembles pajamas usually means I'll have a productive morning but then want to lay around and be lazy (absolutely not an option these days!). What helps is to pick out my clothes the night before - even if it's just in my head, having an idea of what I'm going to throw on in the morning helps knock off a few minutes from my routine.

Fortunately, I found a few complete Godsend items that make my morning significantly easier. I'll break down my "get ready" routine and share what products I use along the way!

Dry & Style Hair: 13 Minutes

I can't tell people enough how fabulous the Revlon one-step hair dryer and voluminizer is. I love have frizz-free hair but don't love flat hair. This is the solution. During the colder months, I cannot stand having wet hair, so letting it air dry is not ideal, but if I use a hair dryer and straightener or curling iron, it takes almost 45 minutes. With this, it takes me ONLY 13 MINUTES. That's right. Less than 15 minutes to have dry, straight, smooth hair.

Pro tip: Wait until your hair is about 30% dry and it'll be a breeze! It does take a little longer on hair that is still soaking wet.

Skincare: 1 Minute

Product: Olay Regenerist MicroSculpting Cream Moisturizer

It took 27 years, but I finally use a good moisturizer each morning. It took me a few different brands to find one that works for my skin, and I fell in love with the whole Olay Regenerist line. It's not greasy and doesn't leave my skin feeling weighted down.

Makeup: 6 Minutes

Lashes: L'Oreal Paris Voluminizer Primer and Mascara

My everyday look is simple, doesn't require a lot of work, but makes me feel "together!" It also gives me just enough color on my cheeks and coverage under my eyes to make me look alive... because #momlife I put everything on in the order that I have it linked above. I dislike wearing a liquid or cream foundation most of the time because I find that it makes my skin feel weighted down and clogs my pores. The powder is very lightweight (but also light coverage, so if you want more coverage, this may not be your best option).

I was cursed with pretty lousy eyelashes so on days when I am shooting content or want a little extra oomph I use Ardell Natural or Wispies lashes with the KISS Strip Adhesive in Clear. I love this lash glue because it is clear and you apply it with a brush so it is much more precise! These lashes are super lightweight so it doesn't feel like you have have anything on, as opposed to heavier lashes that can feel heavy! (Putting on lashes only adds another minute to my routine - but it took a while to figure this part out).

It took a while to nail down a routine that works for me in the morning, and I'm hoping that maybe you'll see something that helps you too!
