Bumpdate - 24 Weeks

Saying that we're headed down the homestretch seems a little premature, but honestly, we are. We're closer to rounding 3rd base, if you ask me!

The last month has flown by. As we plan ahead for a busy fall, I know for a fact that the rest of the 16 weeks will go by in the blink of an eye. I'm trying to cherish every moment of being pregnant, knowing it's our LAST TIME (yes, mom, this is the last time!), but I am not a mom who truly loves being pregnant. Nevertheless, it's been a lot easier this time than my first time around!

It took until 23 weeks, but we have a name! If you missed it, our darling little girl will be named Delaney Grace. It took a lot of back and forth and throwing around ideas and reading 5 baby name to choose a name. I had suggested "Delaney" when we first started discussing names, but Hubby didn't jump on board for a while. Grace was a mutual decision!

We had our anatomy scan that confirmed it's a girl and that she's growing well and everything is moving right on pace. Caroline thought it was pretty cool to see her sister on the TV!

I don't feel like I'm "popped" yet, and honestly, I don't feel much bigger than my 20 Week Bumpdate! She is sitting higher and making is harder to get out of bed, breathe, and chase a toddler, but I'm making it work.

Baby Mahon is the size of a...

Grapefruit. Weighing approximately 1.10lbs, she's growing like crazy. In fact, she's measuring big! So maybe she'll come early and we'll have a Christmas baby instead of a New years baby. She moves like crazy, especially in the evening after I eat dinner or when I'm singing Caroline her lullabies for bedtime.

Currently Feeling

Over it. I've reached the point where I am not really enjoying being out of breath, restless, and unable to sleep (thanks to being the most uncomfortable). But, I am grateful that everything is going smoothly and there are no issues with the baby's health or with my health. I am trying to just relax and let my body do the hard work. And instead of binging on trashy TV at night, I'm keeping my brain more alert by reading more and minimizing evening screen time - which I think is helping (or maybe it's just the placebo effect).

Currently Craving

Not much. I'm finding that most foods with any kind of delicious seasoning gives me horrible indigestion. Most of the time I suck it up and enjoy what I want, but the aftermath isn't always worth it. Maybe it's the gloomy weather, but I've been really into comfort food - mac and cheese, pasta dishes, heavier foods.

Guilty Pleasure: Dips. Any kind of dip really - hummus with pita chips, buffalo chicken dip, queso... all the dip! I found myself eating a 3-cheese quesadilla dipped in queso the other day and realized it was definitely the baby wanting all that cheese! Any kind of bread/dip combo has my name on it. Ranch dip with pretzels? Yes please! My favorite dip is a family recipe - dill dip with pumpernickel or rye bread. It's a party food, but I devoured it in 2 days.

Currently Wearing

Loose sweaters, leggings, and anything that screams fall! I'm finding a few dress/sweater combinations that I'm really loving, so as long as it's comfy, cozy, and not restricting, I'm game! We have a few warm days ahead so I found a few shorts and light transitional sweaters that work great for cooler mornings and cool nights.

Since we are getting into the cooler months, I am back to wearing a lot of non-maternity clothes that are just loose and flowy - thankful that my non-maternity style is centered around loose clothes! My new favorite sweater is from Target and the Universal Thread collection, but the majority of my other sweaters are years old and perfectly worn in.

Current Worries

Not a true worry since we know the gender, name, and Caroline is all about the baby in Mommy's tummy! But I am starting to stress over the nursery and nursery decor. I never did a real, decorated, themed nursery for Caroline since I was more worried about keeping a baby alive and we moved not long after we had her, so this is my chance to get a great nursery! I want to keep it all pretty low cost and budget friendly, so I've been using Amazon and Target for a lot of inspiration, although there are so many to-die-for boutiques online! Caroline's whole big girl room is pink and will eventually be sort of farmhouse-chic (still in progress!), so I'm not sure I want another pink-heavy room. I'm thinking pastels and purple? Only time will tell...

That's it for now! Our next check in will be at the start of our 3rd trimester!

xoxo
