Must-Have Travel Beauty Products
Car, Plane, Train... A long trip can be both exciting and exhausting. But when you get to your destination, you'll want to look refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.
Truthbomb: it's pointless to travel with a full face of makeup. Makeup can dry your skin out and after a long trip, the makeup you applied 2 hours before leaving will leave your face looking dull and tired (and maybe even smudged if you managed to get some sleep!). Keep your makeup light with a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and a bronzer/highlighter duo. When traveling, less is more!
When traveling, I avoid any beauty product that has to be rubbed in with your hands or use water. To keep you looking fresh from Point A to Point B, I've put together all my favorite travel essentials that I keep in my carry-on or within reach on a long trip.
Eye Masks
Reduce redness, puffiness, and wrinkles under your eyes with eye masks that are soaked in serum to make your eyes look wide awake after a long trip (because let's be honest, you're not sleeping well in a car or plane). These LA PURE 24K Gold eye treatment masks are inexpensive and work so well for tired eyes.
Moisturizing Lip Balm
No matter how you travel, your chances of dehydration increase which can leave your lips feeling dry and cracked. Avoid this by using a heavy-duty moisturizing lip balm. This will give your lips a nice sheen while doing serious work!
Misting Spray
I travel with two different misting sprays from Mario Badescu. These are great lightweight sprays that are hydrating and refreshing. Before we leave (or during, depending how long the trip is!), I give my face and neck a spritz with the Green Tea and Cucumber to give my face an antioxidant boost and hydrate. When I'm prepping for arrival, I use the tried-and-true Rose Water spray that hydrates and gives skin a dewy glow. The aloe and other herbs brighten your complexion and re-energizes skin. Use it after you fix any makeup you have on as a setting spray.
Micellar Water Cleansing Wipes
I don't like to travel with liquids, and when I do, it's as little as possible. So I use Burt's Bees micellar towelettes as my go-to cleaner and makeup remover. They're so gentle on my skin and leave my face feeling hydrated and clean. Instead of bringing makeup remover AND micellar water, I found that this is a great travel 2-in-1.
Tinted Lip Balm
Right before landing or arriving at our destination, throwing on some tinted lip balm or lip color can bring a lot of life back to your face and make you feel like you have your act together (even if you don't). Using a nude or berry shade will brighten your face and give you a natural glow.
Dry Shampoo
Bring life back to your limp, travel-on hair with some volumizing dry shampoo. Finding your favorite brand in a travel size is pretty simple, so it's easy to throw in a small bag or carry-on. Dry shampoo can work as a great texturizer (as well as make your hair smell and feel fresh!) to give your roots a little lift and your hair some bounce.
Concealer & Highlighter Duo
Having a concealer & highlighter duo stick is one of my favorite travel hacks. It doesn't have to be your daily favorite, but finding one that can hide dark circles, brighten your eyes, and give you a nice healthy glow is a must! My favorite travel companion is the E.L.F. Under Eye Concealer and Highlighter. It blends great, moisturizes, and tightens skin to hide tired eyes!
