Fall Fashion Roundup: The Must-Haves
There are very few things that I would call MUST-HAVES but these fall fashion looks are practical and stylish and perfect for cooler weather. Since chilly weather is here to stay and we are officially out of transitional weather, I have completely changed my closet over to sweaters and scarves and phased out a lot of my warm-weather layering options.
1. Animal Print
I'm never going to get tired of this trend - and I want everything leopard print! The easiest way to spice up a neutral outfit is to add leopard print flats or a printed belt (like snakeskin!). Adding a pop of animal print changes the whole vibe of the outfit without going overboard.
2. Tunic Sweaters
They come in every style and color, and are so versatile! Dress them up with some accessories and heels, or dress them down with slip on sneakers and a puffy vest. My favorites are so cozy and look great (even with a baby bump!). Neutral tunic tops are my go-to fall style because they can be paired with just about anything!
3. Over-the-Knee Boots
I just recently fell in love with this trend, and I can't believe it took so long! OTK Boots are like an extra layer of warmth when the weather gets really cold, and honestly, make leggings a bit more acceptable as pants! They also add a layer of texture to your outfit and look great with fall dresses, leggings, or skinny jeans. I just purchased these gray suede boots and I can't believe how great the quality is for under $40.
4. Poncho Sweaters
The ultimate layering piece that feels like you are wearing a blanket? YES PLEASE! They are so easily tossed over a lightweight long-sleeve shirt and leggings and can pull together a whole outfit, with maximum coziness. I'm also loving the wine and mustard colors that are so trendy this year, so this poncho is the best of both worlds.
5. Tote Bag
A dusty pink tote bag is a great fall accessory, perfect for carrying everything you need (and then some) to the pumpkin patch, bonfires, and especially great for traveling. The zipper closure makes it even better! For mamas, this could easily double as a light diaper bag option for when you just need a few things for your toddler - a sippy cup, a diaper or two, and a pack of wipes (and maybe some hats and gloves for when it gets really chilly!). Every girl needs a go-to tote bag.
6. Cashmere Scarf
I firmly believe every woman should own a 100% cashmere scarf. It's an investment that will never go out of style. Brands like Burberry and Valentino have been selling them for decades, and newer brands like Halogen are getting on board at department stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstom. Prices range, but you can expect to get a high quality, 100% cashmere scarf starting at $150. But it's totally worth it.
These are just my go-to fall must-haves. What are your favorite fashion items for fall?!
Xoxo
