Weekend Getaway Style

Going away for a weekend or just a night during the fall is one of the best things to do in Maryland. Especially if you go to the beach or somewhere that is the off-season, so I thought it would be fun to throw together a post outlining everything I packed for 2 very different weekend trips - a crab feast at the beach and a wedding at a quaint B&B.

But one of the biggest challenges is packing for a weekend getaway in Maryland, in the fall. The weather is all over the place and can be 40 degrees in the morning and by lunchtime, be in the 70s. So dressing for this kind of dramatic weather and knowing what to pack in a weekender bag can be difficult.

I have a few staples that I always pack when I go away in the cooler months - My comfiest denim, booties, and lots of layers.

What I Packed:

I'm giving you a pretty detailed rundown of everything I packed for these 2 weekends since they're so different! Both were packed in a small carry-on size suitcase, but would easily fit in a weekender bag (In my 3rd trimester, there's no way I'm picking up a bag to carry... so wheels it is!)

Weekend One: Eastern Shore Crab Feast

This is an annual trip hubby and I do each year and look forward to. We catch up with friends and are only away for one night, so it's pretty light packing!

Outfits

Daytime Outfit: I paired my camo top with my favorite maternity jeans and topped it off with my go-to cardigan and slip-on sneakers. This was such a comfy outfit and was the perfect amount of layering for cooler temperatures.

Daytime Outfit: CuddlDuds tunic with maternity leggings, slip-on sneakers, and gray quilted vest. A comfortable outfit for casual brunch, travel, or a day running errands.

Evening Outfit: Taupe Suede booties with jeans, chunky olive knit sweater, and bralette. A comfy, casual look for a night out when the weather is chilly.

WEEKEND TWO: Quaint B&B Wedding

One of hubby's best friends is getting hitched! And it's not far from home, but we had decided that this would be our last night away before Baby.

OUTFITS

Daytime Outfit: Lightweight gray sweater, dark wash denim, dusty rose loafer mules, cashmere scarf. This outfit is a comfortable fall look for the day after an event, for running errands, or a coffee date!

Daytime Outfit: An oversized sweater with leggings and slip on sneakers is great for pre-wedding festivities in cold and windy weather.

Rehearsal Dinner Outfit: This Leith Dupe layered with this mustard duster and wine-colored kitten heels embodies the "it" colors this fall.

Wedding Outfit: A gunmetal blue strappy scuba dress, gray & black wrap sweater, Snakeskin mule heels

After-Party Evening Outfit: black shirt with lace detail, dark wash denim, and studded booties for a fun, casual look

For both weekends, I was able to pack my stuff and hubby's things in ONE BAG that is carry-on sized. The key is to pack versatile pieces that can be worn multiple ways or be rolled when packing.
