Chocolate Date Energy Balls
Part of my diet is keeping things low carb and low calorie, while keeping up energy. I found it pretty hard to stay energized while minimizing my daily intake.
And then I found a bunch of recipes for energy balls. I had gotten some protein/energy balls after I had Delaney to boost my nutrients while I was breastfeeding. Only now, I need an extra jolt of energy to get through the day with 2 little girls!
These 5 ingredient energy balls combine some of my favorite weight loss snacks into one delicious bite.
Chocolate Date Energy Balls
Ingredients
1 cup raw almond slivers
1/3 cup walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1/8 cup honey
3/4 cup chopped dates
In a food processor, grind the nuts until they form a dense powder.
Add in dates and continue to mix until dates are ground into small pieces.
In a mixing bowl, pour nuts and date mixture, cocoa powder, and honey. Stir until all combined.
The mixture will be thick and if it's too dry, mix in a little more honey until manageable.
With damp hands, roll into balls, approximately 1 1/2 inches wide. Set on a baking sheet and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours before digging in!
These are truly the best snack to have while fasting because they are so full of healthy protein, they keep you full and satisfy a sweet tooth at the same time.
