Black Pepper & Olive Oil Martini

There’s something so effortlessly chic about a martini—it’s crisp, refined, and always makes a statement. But every now and then, a classic deserves a little upgrade. Enter: the Black Pepper & Olive Oil Martini.

Key notes:

  • Frost your glass before shaking up the cocktail so it stays extra chilled and reduces condensation

This isn’t your average cocktail. With two simple pantry staples, freshly cracked black pepper and a drizzle of rich extra virgin olive oil, you transform a traditional martini into something elevated, aromatic, and just a little bit unexpected. The key, of course, is quality. Choose the best vodka you can find, plump Castelvetrano olives, and a peppercorn you’d be proud to use at the table. It’s those thoughtful details that make the difference between “just another drink” and an experience worth savoring.

Ingredients

  • 3 Castelvetrano olives
  • 2 oz olive juice (from the jar of Castelvetranos)
  • 2 pinches freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 oz good extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 oz Chopin vodka
  • More olives, for garnish

How to Make an Olive Oil Martini

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the olives, olive juice, and one pinch of black pepper. Muddle until the olives are completely pulverized—the goal is to coax out their rich, buttery flavor.
  2. Add the ice, then pour over the vodka.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, or until the metal shaker is frosted over. (This is where the magic happens: the drink becomes crisp, icy, and perfectly blended.)
  4. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the top and finish with the remaining pinch of black pepper.
  6. Garnish generously with extra olives—you can never have too many.

Sip & Savor

This martini feels indulgent but grounded. The brininess of the olives pairs beautifully with the warmth of the black pepper, while that final drizzle of olive oil adds a luxurious silkiness. It’s a cocktail you can serve before a dinner party to impress your guests, or simply enjoy on a quiet evening when you want a touch of glamour.

Because really—if you’re going to have a martini, why not make it fabulous?
